Naturopathy
Naturopathy is an holistic approach to health care. A Naturopath treats health problems and prevents disease through treatment of the whole person. This includes the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual levels of our being, and the impact that environmental factors have on our health.
Natural remedies are prescribed as part of a Naturopathic treatment. These are non-invasive, supportive therapies for the body such as herbal medicines, homoeopathic remedies, vitamin/mineral supplements and food as therapy. The aim of these remedies is to return the person to a maximum state of health by treating the cause of the problem.
The treatment is effective and long lasting as it aims to support the body's own innate healing process. It does this by stimulating the body's natural healing capacity to repair itself, not just masking the symptoms as many orthodox medications do.
You will be empowered by the knowledge gained from your Naturopathic consultation, allowing you to take control and responsibility for your own health.
The first consultation is a one and a half hour in depth initial consultation. A thorough case history is taken. The cause of the illness is established by means of a wide range of diagnostic techniques, including iridology, zinc tally taste test, urinary indicans test, and analysis of blood test results and signs and symptoms. A holistic prescription of natural remedies, dietary and lifestyle advice is made specifically for the individual.
Further tests such as Functional Pathology blood tests, for example allergy tests, may be advised if necessary. Also Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis may be advised to test for toxic elements such as heavy metals, or underlying nutrient deficiencies.
Ear candling is also offered at The Holistic Health Clinic. It is a natural and gentle way to remove ear wax for children or adults suffering from ear wax buildup. The treatment includes the Hopi ear candles which are made with beeswax, and the whole process is relaxing and enjoyable.
